In our inaugural collaboration with 3D People, a London-based 3D printing firm, we embarked on creating a high-quality housing for electronic devices, using the Pocket Operator—a fully equipped PCB ready for use—as our model. This project exemplifies the capabilities of advanced 3D printing to produce finished, consumer-ready products.
We began with in-house FDM printing for our prototypes, progressing to more sophisticated SLS and MJF techniques. MJF, in particular, allowed us to achieve remarkable results, crafting a durable nylon case featuring 20 integrated springs for enhanced button feedback, function engravings, a secure clip, and dual hand strap holes, all while maintaining the visibility of the LED lights. This design significantly improves the usability and protection of the Pocket Operator series, compatible with all models, with or without their original hangers.
Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the choice of nylon, making the case fully recyclable and aligning with our goal to produce only what’s needed, reducing environmental impact.
Now available in our shop, this case is a testament to the fusion of innovation, utility, and environmental consciousness.
